While some of his movies and television shows bomb at the box office, fans still love to see John Cena on the big and small screens. From a myriad of roles that he has portrayed over the years, one character that fans have loved the most is his portrayal of DC’s Peacemaker. Fans got their first taste of the character in 2021 with James Gunn’s Suicide Squad. The studio then green-lit a spin-off series and fans got the first season of Peacemaker.

Fans saw the last of Peacemaker back in February 2022 and since then have been waiting for more. Well, worry not because we have some good news for the fans of the DC’s controversial superhero.

When will John Cena don the chrome helmet?

The question on everyone’s mind right now is when will they get to see the second season of Peacemaker. While the creator of the show, James Gunn is busy with the upcoming DCEU movie, Superman, it is safe to say that he is not ignoring one of his finest creations. In a report by Deadline, the Leader of Cenation‘s co-star, Jennifer Holland has revealed when the filming of the second season will start.

When a fan asked the star whether there would be a second season of the show, Holland replied affirming that Peacemaker’s shenanigans would continue. She mentioned that the filming of the second season will start this summer and also suggested that the fans are in for a ride. Even John Cena had hinted at a lot of new things that might happen in the future with the character.

As mentioned before, the first season happened to be a spin-off from the 2021 Suicide Squad movie. The show follows the adventures of Peacemaker as he tries to work for Amanda Waller in a bid to “maintain peace.” But he then realizes that maintaining peace is not that easy.

What will happen in season 2?

It could be assumed that the start of season 2 might be due to the amalgamation of two discrete events. At the end of season 1, while Peacemaker was able to defeat the threat, the secrets of Task Force X a.k.a the Suicide Squad were revealed to the public. Due to this, both Amanda Waller and Peacemaker are now considered a threat.

However, fans might have to wait a little more for the answers as a spin-off series based on Amanda Waller is in the works. The said spin-off will kick off from where season 1 of Peacemaker ended.
