Paid $20 Million for Only His Voice, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Set to Make Significantly More in Live Action Remake of $682 Million Generating Blockbuster

Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest names in the industry. However, he has not always been an actor. After suffering a major upset in his football career, Johnson left it behind and followed his roots in pro wrestling. After establishing himself as one of the top stars in wrestling history, he would join Hollywood.

Soon after, Johnson found himself climbing the stairs of success. And came directly under the limelight as he became one of the top-sought actors in the industry. Currently, with several commercially successful movies to his name, the former WWE superstar also is one of the highest-paid actors.

In 2016, Johnson entered a new genre of films when he starred in Moana and lent his voice to the main character in the animated film. The movie became a massive success and became a major source of motivation for all the young girls. The movie was empowering and sent a sense of motivation around.

Recently news broke that Moana would come out again, but this time as a live-action film. Looking at the success figures of the animated film, Disney does not want to miss out on the monetary profits of the film.

For his role as Maui in Moana, Johnson was paid a handsome amount of $20 million and one million extra for his other works, such as social media endorsements, etc. The animated film generated a massive amount of $682 million in collections. And with the live-action film in works, Johnson could reprise his role. He might be looking at a much bigger figure than just $20 million this time around.

Johnson could be co-producing Moana’s live-action film alongside Disney. And this could take his salary to a range comprising of $19 to $57 million. He could also earn three to nine percent of the profits from the film. Whatever the amount be, Moana’s live-action adaptation could turn out to be an extremely profitable venture for The Brahma Bull.

However, it made him one of the highest-paid voice actors in Disney’s history. At an estimated net worth of $800 million, Johnson was paid a paycheck of $5.5 million for his first role in Mummy 2. It would see a massive rise, as he currently earns anywhere between $12 to $25 million per film, while also charging a percentage of the profits as a producer if he is involved in the production.
