Cody Rhodes has had a great run since returning to the WWE. After many years, he returned to their biggest stage, WrestleMania 38. After a successful year, he got a title shot against Roman Reigns. However, he lost the match but was never bitter about it and felt good about the wrestler that pinned the Tribal Chief.

Rhodes is said to be one of the most humble wrestlers in pro wrestling, but what did he have to say about the Bloodline’s implosion and the man who finally pinned Reigns?

While interviewing with Forbes, Rhodes was asked who he wanted to win the Jey Uso Vs. Roman Reigns match, and Rhodes picked Jey. He continued to say that he was rooting for Jey. The Bloodline family feud was one of the most hyped storylines in WWE. After completing 1,000 days and three years of not being undefeated, Jey pinned Reigns at Money in the Bank 2023.

Rhodes said, “To see Jey get such a big win, one that he earned was something that made me proud.” According to Rhodes, this moment made him understand the challenging journey Jey had to go through to get to where he was. Rhodes also added that he wanted to be the one to do it. Since Rhodes lost to Reigns at WrestleMania 39, he’s been looking for revenge.

Rhodes continued with how he didn’t like to root against people. He said that he wanted to see people succeed. With the storyline of the Bloodline and the Uso reaching a crescendo, it was part of the story for Jey to be the one finally pinning Reigns.

Rhodes has had an emotional ride since WrestleMania 39. After getting a title shot with his wife, mother, and children in attendance, Rhodes lost to Reigns thanks to The Bloodline’s involvement. Since then, things have changed in The Bloodline, with Jimmy and Jey departing, leaving Roman and Solo Sikoa to fend for themselves.

Rhodes’s massive babyface run and the fall of The Bloodline

Even after his shocking loss at WrestleMania 39, he was optimistic about his run in WWE. Now, days before SummerSlam, Rhodes is preparing to take on Brock Lesnar at the second biggest WWE stage. This is set to be one of his biggest victories if he pins ‘The Beast’.

During the Rhodes vs. Reigns’ title match at WrestleMania 39, Jimmy and Jey Uso were on the side of their cousin. They stood behind their Tribal Chief. However, things have taken a dramatic turn since then. The Bloodline is in tatters and Reigns is perhaps the weakest he has been in a long time. If Rhodes manages to over Lesnar at SummerSlam he may turn his attention to Reigns and the coveted WWE Championship.
