Hulk Hogan has displayed a special talent for mesmerizing the masses with his impeccable charisma and elite in-ring skills. Over the years of his career, He has established himself as a true legend. Hogan is arguably one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time and has a career to prove it as well.

Over the years in his career, Hogan has faced several in-ring legends and beaten them as well. Nevertheless, in the 80s, Hogan was due to face a WWE legend in a dream match for the fans. However, the bout didn’t materialize as Hogan’s opponent withdraw from the match with an injury.

WWE legend Jesse Ventura was once booked to face Hogan for the WWE championship in September 1984. However, Ventura’s hospitalization stopped him from winning the world title off Hogan’s shoulder and stalled his push into the main-event scene.

The former governor of Minnesota’s in-ring career came to an abrupt end after going through a medical emergency during the fall of 1984. However, recently during his appearance at Steel City Con, Ventura opened up about that time. And revealed that it was fate that had other plans laid out for him.

Both Ventura and Hogan are two of the greatest in-ring performers of all time. Hogan went on to become a major star in the business. Ventura’s push came to a halt after his blood clot medical emergency. However, it instead opened a new career division for him, as a heel commentator.

During his latest appearance, he said, “the night before I was to wrestle Hulk Hogan for the World Heavyweight Title in Los Angeles, I ended up in critical condition in the San Diego hospital with massive blood clots from 28 days of flying in a row.

The former Governor would also reveal how much of a great believer in fate he is. Ventura said, “Many times in life when something dastardly happens to you, it leads to something good as a result of it.” Although Ventura’s push ended after this, WWE found him an alternative as a commentator. He shined in the role until his departure from the company in 1990.

Ventura is one of the most popular WWE commentators of all time. And it was his villainous gimmick given by Vince McMahon that made him even more popular amongst the fans while he generated heat. A true legend, Ventura was inducted into the 2004 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.
