Nine months have passed since CM Punk’s real-life altercation with the Elite after the AEW’s All Out Event. His reunion with his rivals from that infamous night was not part of the Forbidden Door narrative. The All Out fiasco which involved Punk’s confrontation with his former adversaries created a buzz of controversy.

Fans speculated about the potential contribution of this heated rivalry in subsequent AEW events. However, the promotions and creative team chose a different direction, opting to focus on fresh rivalries and collaborations through the Forbidden Door.

CM Punk and The Elite, both popular figures in AEW, ar currently featured on different TV shows. Punk mainly appears on the show called “Collison.” The Elite usually appear on “Dynamite”.

The root cause of the heated rivalry between CM Punk and The Elite

Following the All Out pay-per-view, a backstage altercation ensued between CM Punk and the Elite. The Elite group comprises of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, who also hold executive vice president positions within the company.

The incident unfolded after Punk publicly criticized them during a media scrum, accusing them of being irresponsible. Sources reported that the trio confronted Punk in the locker room, leading to a physical confrontation between them.

As a consequence of the feud that took place backstage, Tony Khan had no option but to suspend the stars involved. However, after the classic backstage brawl between Punk and The Elite, both parties finally made a comeback in the AEW world.

AEW is now taking precautions to avoid any further drama in the Forbidden Door era. CM Punk and the Elite are kept separate, so no fuel is added to the rivalry.
