This year’s Money in The Bank in particular was packed with many surprises that had the fans at the edge of their seats till the very end. One was ‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre’s return, along with the out-of-the-blue appearance of John Cena which sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Other unexpected results included Damian Priest and Iyo Sky winning their respective MITB ladder matches while fans were heavily rooting for LA Knight and Becky Lynch. But one incident truly shocked the newly crowned Women’s Tag Team Champions.

This was one of the most awaited matches of the night, at least for Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. They had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time ever since they had to relinquish their titles. The reason was Liv Morgan’s ‘torn shoulder’ injury. The match was going on well with both the teams putting on a tough fight with no intention to budge. But what Shayna Baszler eventually did totally left the fans dumbfounded.

As Rousey tagged herself in and was moving in towards Liv Morgan, Baszler attacked her from behind and launched a blitzkrieg of blows upon her. Later she held Rousey by her hair and got her into a Kirifuda clutch which left Liv Morgan clearly stunned. After Baszler left the ring, Morgan hit Rousey with her finisher allowing her to pick up the win and win the tag team titles.

When asked at the press conference what they felt about the shocking betrayal, Raquel Rodriguez said, “I had a sense of like jealousy, going on in there, maybe like some really long-term hate that’s been building up for decades probably.

Liv added, “I don’t know, I feel like we went over every single possible scenario that could you know come from this match, every single outcome and we did not for one second consider that, not even in the slightest. So, I mean I don’t know if you saw my face, I was shocked.

Raquel ended by saying, “I do like to think that our fighting spirit really helped egg it, to like push it over the edge. It really did send Shayna for just a little bit over.” Liv also ended by saying, “I’m excited to see what is to come with that though.”

Fans couldn’t believe their eyes at what they saw during the match as Rousey and Baszler have been the best of friends right from their early days.

Ronda and Shayna’s friendship goes back to their MMA days

They both were training partners at the Glendale Fighting Club MMA gym. Rousey also served as Baszler’s coach on season 18 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. But sadly she did not succeed in winning that tournament. And on her last appearance on ‘The Cheapheat Podcast’, Baszler only had praises for Rousey.

She said that Ronda went straight to the office and asked for them to be a tag team. This is in spite of management giving them lots of excuses. According to Baszler, had it not been for Ronda, they would never be a tag team.

It doesn’t make sense why Baszler would backstab her friend into losing a Championship she coveted for so long. It only remains to be seen how ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey will explode after this betrayal. Why do you guys think Shayna Baszler did this to her best friend?
