Wrestling enthusiasts across the world know of Trinity Fatu, formerly known as Naomi, for her notable tenure in WWE. In one of the greatest wrestling promotions, she won numerous accolades, making her a known face of the company. However, after massive creative differences with WWE, Naomi debuted at Impact Wrestling.

It’s a dream of numerous wrestlers to be a part of WWE. But last year, fans witnessed a shocking visual where Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the company. Since then, everyone questioned their wrestling career. However, earlier this year, it became clear that Banks chose NJPW over WWE and turned into ‘Mercedes Mone’. And recently, Naomi followed her former tag-team partner’s footsteps and chose what she believed in. 

Naomi revealed the reason behind her prioritizing Impact Wrestling

Speaking to NBC Chicago, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion presented her honest thoughts. She detailed her reason for choosing the Nashville-based promotion over any other, even Tony Khan’s AEW. Since her infamous WWE exit, the speculations pointed at her joining the likely destination for her, which was AEW. However, Khan’s promotion might have not appealed to her as much as Impact did. 

She said, “I chose IMPACT because I really, truly believe that it’s one of the best women’s division. I’ve been watching these women for years from afar, and I’ve always admired the talent here.”

To wrestling enthusiasts, it would be well-known how Impact Wrestling presents its women wrestlers. It’s quite commendable. And this way of functioning the roster seems to have truly touched Naomi. Therefore, she went against the grain like Banks did, and brought more eyes to Impact Wrestling. That being said, one cannot deny how difficult it must have been for the 35-year-old superstar to leave a globally renowned promotion and be on a nearly year-long hiatus.

While expressing herself and reasoning her decision to prioritize Impact Wrestling, Naomi shared her challenging experience. She said, “I feel like it was a blessing in disguise. I feel that it’s allowed me to grow and become better in every way, in every aspect. Show me how strong I really am.” It was definitely a challenging time for Naomi when she had to choose how to proceed further after leaving WWE. However, now that she made her decision, we wish to see more of her in the ring.
