Mic and promo skills play a key role in a WWE superstar’s career. A superstar’s promo skills can make or break his career. Those who are exceptionally good with microphones often go on to become top names as they can form a deep connection with their audience through their storytelling ability.
That being said, Edge, who has been in the WWE for nearly three decades, also has impeccable mic skills that have helped him to achieve tremendous growth in the company. But this was not the case when he started his career.
Edge initially struggled to be on the microphone

For 30 years, The Rated R Superstar has given his audience his money’s worth, and the star’s ability to deliver amazing promos had an enormous hand in it. However, the star who now possesses the powerful skill to get his audience hooked once had trouble dealing with the microphone.
The March 25 edition of Sportsnet Today featured the WWE Hall of Famer as the special guest for the show. During the show, he had a chat with Matt Marchese about a bunch of different subjects. One of the topics of discussion was his promo skills.
Shedding some light on his past, he said that when he started out in WWE; he faced problems with the delivery of his promos. He said, “I knew my biggest struggle was going to be being on the microphone because I was kind of a naturally shy guy.”
How did Edge get better with his promos?
During the interview, the multi-time WWE Champion also mentioned that his college played a major role in helping him develop his microphone skills. He holds a diploma in radio broadcasting from Humber College. The radio broadcasting course really helped him to better himself when it came to delivering promos in WWE.
“I truly think Humber helped me with that, to kind of break out of my shell. And realize if you are talking, it just can’t be a monotone thing. You basically have to tell a story with your voice and that’s what a promo I would call in a wrestling is,” he said.

Well, all thanks to Humber College, the WWE legend has been able to deliver soul-touching promos in his WWE run. Some of the exceptional promos that he has recently cut include when he returned to WWE in 2020 and during his feud with Seth Rollins, who once threatened to end his career with a curb stomp.
These are just a few examples of the many outstanding promos from the WWE superstar that left the fans amazed. All these promos helped him to establish himself as the main event-level status he is in WWE today.
