John Cena was the young kid from West New Bury who crossed every hurdle to become one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time. The Champ’s road to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. While he has now transitioned to become a full-time Hollywood actor, his roots with films began even when he was with the WWE.

How does that work? The die-hard John Cena fans remember his involvement in movies produced by WWE. Despite doing some poorly performing films, there was one person who never gave up on his acting skills. The same person showed faith and led the way for him to Hollywood.

Who does John Cena call his biggest supporter?

The WWE positioned John Cena to become the golden boy of Vince McMahon‘s promotion during the mid-2000s. His road to the top of the food chain began immediately after WrestleMania 21. The Cenation leader won his first WWE championship at the event and things were never the same.

Vince McMahon and others were hell-bent to have Cena on every marquee and media attraction. That led to John Cena starring in some movies produced by WWE studios. Cena was part of films like The Marine and 12 Rounds. However, those movies didn’t help Cena’s cause in establishing his credibility in his budding acting career.

But that did not let his close friend and associate Dan Baime relinquish Cena’s dream of becoming an established actor. The Champ recently disclosed the influence of Baime in his life during an interview with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. Moreover, he credited him for being the first person to try to get his foot in the Hollywood door and get opportunities.

“Biggest supporter … Dan Baime is in the crowd … and he has been with me for almost two decades now … and he was in that run when I was doing all those bad movies produced by WWE … and he was representing me to Hollywood … but Hollywood wouldn’t talk to him … because I was doing movies … bad ones with WWE and then wrestling a full schedule so I did not have any availability.”

Cena continued.” he kinda hung in there for me for a lot of years when the phone did not ring … and couldn’t be happier when the phone started to ring … it’s because of that time that forged our friendship ... I call him my non-romantic life partner because we love each other, lean on each other a lot … I would say certainly had supported me the most in that transition.”

Its a far cry from the state of affairs Cena talked about as he is now a widely reputed actor in Hollywood.
