Matt Hardy Names MJF as a Dream Competitor for 2X World Heavyweight Champion Currently Signed to AEW

Matt Hardy, the former WWE superstar and wrestling veteran recently came up with an AEW match setup that fans didn’t know they want. He chose MJF as a dream opponent for the two-time WWE world heavyweight champion and his brother Jeff Hardy. It is an interesting choice as both MJF and Jeff Hardy have different wrestling persona and their wrestling style is quite opposite from each other. Matt Hardy though had no hesitation in picking MJF as a possible opponent for his brother.

On the latest episode of his podcast, ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy’ the former WWE superstar held a Q&A session. In the session, a fan asked the wrestling veteran about the five dream matches that he wants for his brother Jeff Hardy in AEW. 

And in reply, Matt Hardy named five top AEW superstars who he wants to share the ring with his brother, who recently made a comeback to Tony Khan’s company after a lengthy hiatus. 

Answering the question, Matt Hardy said, “Let me think about this a little bit. The first one I’m gonna say Kenny Omega, Jungle Boy, Sammy Guevara….uh…MJF and then I need one more here… I’d say, Wardlow.”

The reason why MJF is the most interesting competitor here is his amazing run in Tony Khan’s company. 

What makes MJF a perfect competitor for Jeff Hardy?

MJF stepped inside the AEW in 2019 and just with the inception, he showed his dominance among all other top stars. He remained undefeated for a year and defeated stars like Cody Rhodes and Jungle Boy. 

He feuded with Jon Moxley twice and in 2022; he defeated him in a championship match and became the youngest AEW world champion. MJF is currently portraying a heel character in the company and critics around the globe are praising him. Though the audience remains divided over some of his actions.

And if we talk about Jeff Hardy, then he was a top superstar during his WWE stint. Whereas MJF mostly uses a grounded safe wrestling style, Hardy is famous for his high-flying and risky moves. While MJF is a despicable heel, Jeff Hardy is more or less
