Mandy Rose and Otis remain friends outside the promotion
Former WWE Champion Mandy Rose took to X on January 29th to post her condolences. She tweeted, “I’m so sorry dozer 💔 love u and my condolences to you and your family 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻”. Otis and Mandy Rose were teamed together for an on-screen romantic storyline before the glam queen was moved back to the NXT brand for development.

The uncharacteristic kayfabe romantic storyline began in 2019 when Otis, developed a crush on the glamorous Mandy Rose. Their kayfabe romance gave us a few memorable moments including a unique save during Royal Rumble 2020.
It isn’t surprising that Rose and Otis still remain friends despite the two no longer working at the same promotion. Recalling the kayfabe storyline, Mandy Rose described it as fun and loving. In an interview with popular wrestling journalist, Chris Van Vliet, she said, “I had a lot of fun working with him, he’s a character in and out of the ring. It was really cool to be able to have that kind of storyline where it was like, you know, we barely wrestled … when they talk about sports entertainment, like, that was pure entertainment, I feel like. But it was fun. I had a lot of fun.”
Rose’s tweet was in response to a tweet from Otis for his mother following her passing.

Otis shares a heartfelt message in memory of his mother
On January 29th, Otis tweeted, “Rest Now Forever Where Now there is no more Pain Because of you growing up I’ve Memorized every John Candy Movie Introduced and Jam to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and Stevie Nicks Rest In Peace Gaisan.” Along with the tweet, he posted a few pictures of him and his mother, including pictures from his younger days.

The loss of his mother was probably the reason behind Otis’ absence from the recent edition of Royal Rumble. He is currently working as an upper-mid card wrestler as a part of The Alpha Academy where he entertains the crowd with his funny gimmick.
