Dominik Mysterio is a certified WWE heel now. So, it was quite predicted that he could go to any limits tonight as he set his eyes toward the massive Elimination Chamber spot. That said, the crowd interrupted him in between a scathing promo and forced him to leave it halfway.

Dominik Mysterio’s promo met with a sudden wave of backlash at Smackdown tonight.

The sinister Judgement Day star isn’t only aiming for his ticket to Elimination Chamber, rather he is looking to get a double victory, one for himself and another for Mami. He tried to advocate for the same from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the 02/16 episode of the blue brand show. But a frenzied crowd gets in his way even without properly decoding what he’s saying. At the very beginning of the night, we saw DomDom with the mic, throwing his regular Mami eulogy. He was saying something like Rhea Ripley is going to retain her title. As soon as the “Mami gonna stay…” was heard through the arena, the people blasted him with huge boos.

The later affairs of the night also went against Mysterio with Kevin Owens having his upper hand in the match.

But how does Mysterio’s defeat seem justified.? Let’s look deeper.

Why did WWE make Dominik Mysterio lose a crucial match on SmackDown?

Despite having his moments in the showdown, DomDom scored a defeat against KO due to R Truth’s timely interruption. However, it didn’t look like an odd call as Owens had greater experience than Mysterio to deserve this win. Although the Judgement Day member has already planted his star power and talent in the promotion, he is still relatively a newbie. So, snubbing them in a high-flying Elimination Chamber spot can be substantiated that way.

The second justification for the outcome would be shedding more spotlight on Kevin Owens’. Since being drafted to the blue brand, The Prizefighter hasn’t been booked properly. While he managed to get a shot at the United States Championship match against Logan Paul at Royal Rumble 2024, he ended up losing it.

Also, there might be another scene behind Dominik Mysterio not winning over Kevin Owens, and making his way to the upcoming Elimination Chamber. WWE might have tipped some other plan for him relating to Mami to keep the Judgement Day flavor alive in February’s PLE.
