“Made No Sense”: Fans Turn Their Back on Cody Rhodes Following His ‘Wild’ Statement on Brock Lesnar Just Days After Passing Out

It’s one win-a-piece in Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes’ rivalry, but the latter is not happy. After losing to Lesnar at Night of Champions on May 27 in Saudi Arabia, Rhodes has made a bold claim about his 45-year-old opponent. While cutting a promo on the recent episode of Raw, The American Nightmare questioned Lesnar’s manhood. This was too much for WWE loyalists, who reacted to Rhodes’ comments on social media.

Cody Rhodes wants another match with Brock Lesnar after loss at Night of Champions

Before their Night of Champions encounter, Lesnar attacked Rhodes backstage and hurt his arm. The former WWE Champion cut a promo later that night, declaring that their match wasn’t going to take place as his scheduled opponent was injured. Lesnar then challenged anybody to step out and face him in Saudi Arabia. Responding to the call, Cody Rhodes emerged, ensuing another scuffle.

Despite Triple H’s coaxing, Rhodes chose to fight Lesnar and surprisingly used his cast as a weapon against Lesnar during the PLE. However, The Beast Incarnate was able to overcome the challenge and won the match as Rhodes passed out. To his credit, Rhodes didn’t tap out, and that is what he boasted about in his promo on RAW.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion praised Lesnar as a formidable wrestler, a future UFC Hall of Famer, and the ‘Beast‘. But he soon made his intentions clear by attacking the WWE icon.

“Beast enough to break my arm, but not man enough to make me tap out,” he said. “And if you don’t accept my challenge Brock Lesnar, we can go and add one more thing to that list- Brock Lesnar is afraid of what cannot be broken, Brock Lesnar is afraid of Cody Rhodes,” he added.

This left fans turning on Cody Rhodes.

Fans ask Cody Rhodes to stop, refuse to support his claim

Even though pro-wrestling matches have predetermined outcomes and are partially choreographed, they still need to be credible. For Cody Rhodes to say Brock Lesnar is afraid of him, blurred that line. After all, the WWE Universe is well aware of Lesnar’s reputation.

Just a few weeks ago, he busted his forehead open and continued with the match. Lesnar is also immensely strong. His strength is well documented during his UFC stint, where he punched his way to a heavyweight championship.

In short, Lesnar is one of the fearsome guys in WWE and for Cody Rhodes to make such a claim- it didn’t sit well with the fans.

This fan thought the claim was “wild”, especially coming from someone with a broken arm.

No, this user wasn’t convinced either.

Even an ardent Cody Rhodes fan found it difficult to believe.
