That said, Lesnar’s retirement rumors are up in the air and Gunther may be eyeing his throne in the wrestling industry. Is ‘The Ring General’ the perfect fit for filling Lesnar’s big shoes? EssentiallySports recently conducted an exclusive interview with Ludwig Kaiser. During the interview, we asked him whether he thinks Gunther has the potential to take over Lesnar’s legacy in WWE after the latter retires. Kaiser replied with a no, even when he believed Gunther was a phenomenal wrestler.

He said, “He (Gunther) is such a perfect blend of athleticism, strength, speed, pace, all of that stuff. So if we’re talking about anyone filling the shoes of Brock Lesnar, then we definitely have to look at Gunther, even though I want to say, I do not think that Walter (Gunther’s real name) would fill the footsteps of Brock Lesnar.”

Kaiser said so because he feels ‘The Conqueror’ is a “one out of a million talents” and it is almost impossible to walk in his shoes. Though he believes so, he is fully confident that his stablemate will carve out his own successful path in WWE.

Kaiser believes Gunther will achieve greater success in WWE

Kaiser complemented Gunther on his impressive growth in the promotion ever since he stepped foot in NXT in 2019 and then on the main roster in 2022. ‘The Ring General’ has been a dominant force in WWE and has laid waste to everyone who dared to cross him.

He captured the Intercontinental Champion in June of last year and has defended it successfully multiple times against several opponents. So far, he has been unstoppable and Kaiser is confident that in the coming years, he still has much more to achieve.

Lesnar has been in the combat sports industry for 2+ decades. He has already hung up his MMA boots but is still continuing his profession as a pro wrestler in WWE. He currently works as a part-timer in WWE and makes appearances only on a few major live events.

There is no doubt Lesnar is not very far from his retirement date. He loves to spend time away from the crowd with his family, so it may be possible that the fans will get to see him for only a couple more years. ‘The Beast’ is certainly one-of-a-kind wrestler the WWE Universe has ever seen. Will Gunther be able to fill in his shoes? Only time will tell.
