While the WWE Universe went crazy during the return of Dwayne The Rock Johnson after four years, Logan Paul was not happy. The Youtuber and now WWE star took shots at The Great One. Taking to his social media, he made a post that got fans riled up.

Logan Paul, much like Grayson Waller, has gained a reputation for messing with returning stars or legends of the business. Taking a page out of Waller’s playbook, Paul’s post about The Rock is anything but a tribute to the legend that he is.

Paul and The Rock are not foes by any sense of the term, the two actually used to be good friends. The two were seen in Paul’s YouTube videos while working for the Disney Channel. However, with each passing year, the friendship between the two soured, but the two never turned into enemies.

The Rock picked a great segment to make his return known. While Austin Theory and Pat McAfee were confronting each other in the ring, McAfee made a subtle hint about The Rock. This led to his theme music hitting, which blew the roof off the Ball Arena in Denver, thanks to the loud fans.

Once in the ring, The Rock proceeded to remove his jacket before confronting Theory. With McAfee in the corner and The Rock and Theory in the center, all sported black tank tops. Looking at this, Paul took to his social media and posted an image of this segment. He captioned it, “I’ve seen this before,” followed by a hilarious still from MTV’s show Jersey Shore. The scene Paul used included DJ Pauly D and two other male leads. The cast members sported the same tank tops as The Rock, McAfee, and Theory.

MTV’s Jersey Shore was a reality television series that aired from 2009 to 2012. The series’s female lead, Nicole Elizabeth LaValle, also known as Snooki, appeared on an episode of RAW in 2011. This would lead to a six-person mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 27. It featured Snooki, John Morrison, and Trish Stratus taking on Dolph Ziggler, Michelle McCool, and Layla.

While it seems that Paul is trying to smooth things over with The Rock by poking fun at him, it’s not sure where exactly the two stand in relation to each other.

As mentioned earlier, about a decade ago, Paul and The Rock used to be close friends. The Rock was featured on several YouTube videos, and Paul considered him his idol. But as Paul grew up, time changed him. The infamous “Suicide Forest” incident of 2017 featuring Paul was the last nail in the coffin of their friendship. While on the True Geordie podcast in September 2022, Paul cleared the air about the friendship the two once shared.

While on the podcast, Paul stated that his publicist, who also represented The Rock, said, “Hey, Dwayne has asked that you remove every video and picture that you’ve done with him. Maybe in the future, the relationship can be reconciled.” Paul explained that the vlog he made was due to a lack of better judgment, and he understood people’s choice to cut ties with him after it went viral. He added that he understood why The Rock would feel that way and respected his choice.
