A popular saying says love mainly flows downward. While it’s true to some extent and to some people, Dwayne Johnson set a reverse example. Obviously, he’s not the only son in this universe who possesses a deep love for his father, but his unique way of voicing his love is prodigious and only comes out as a reflection of the weightage of his inner feelings.

WWE Universe is still processing the grief of superstar Bray Wyatt’s untimely death and The Rock was the one who led the tributes to the departed WWE star. The date of Wyatt’s demise collides with The Rock’s late father, Rocky Johnson’s birthday. DJ couldn’t help but pen a beautiful message alongside an emotional video on Instagram before he was done grieving the loss of a close peer.

Dwayne Johnson paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father on the same day of Bray Wyatt’s death

Dwayne Johnson not only did justice to the legendary blood of his father, Rocky Johnson. he, in fact, surpassed his father’s legacy in terms of achievement. Like very few father-son duos, The Rock and his father got their time together in the ring. In fact, it was Johnson who inducted his dad into the Hall of Fame back in 2008.

The Soulman witnessed his son’s entire journey of rising to the top of the business before he breathed his last back in 2020.

24 August 2023 came as the fourth birthday of his dad when DJ couldn’t get to wish his beloved father in person. But that can’t really stop DJ from connecting with his dad. He made a special collage video featuring some of the iconic moments of his dad’s life and beyond. In the Instagram post, The Rock wrote, “Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad. Rough day yesterday, but forced me to search for those silver lining blessings – that you realize, if look hard enough, those silver linings are usually right there in front of you on the hardest of days.”

The post further read, “That was always my dad’s way. Days are tough, life is hard. Get used to it.”

The concluding part of Johnson’s emotional tribute to his father reads,

”I think about you often.
The lessons.
The stuff.

I love you, Happy heavenly birthday and I’ll see you down the road, Soulman 🥃

ps, those lessons… thank you.”

However, contrary to the love, The Great One didn’t have everything good going on with his father throughout his life.

Dwayne Johnson has a lifelong regret for fighting with his dad days before his demise

When it comes to his father, the wrestler-turned-actor has a deep profound love. That said, the relationship was far from ideal at certain points. Rather, he grew up with a tough love, which he finally could understand well after taking up a father’s role in his own life.

There was a lot of unsaid between him and his father. But perhaps the biggest regret for The Rock loomed large when his father died, depriving him of the chance to apologize for the fight they had a month ago.

It still haunts the actor as he himself revealed in a Father’s Day special Instagram post. However, the downsides of their relationship never out-shadowed the love they had for each other and that’s what matters the most.
