WrestleMania 39 was rumored to witness the return of Dwayne The Rock Johnson and set up a confrontation with his cousin Roman Reigns for the marquee main event. In the end, the plan didn’t come to fruition as The People’s Champ deemed he wasn’t in shape to compete. While it didn’t happen in Hollywood, there’s always a chance for next year.
However, the latest report about The Brahma Bull’s future has garnered angry reviews from fans.

WrestleMania 40 will take place at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia between April 6 and 7, 2024. If the $800 million superstar’s absence from SoFi Stadium in Hollywood was hard for fans, reports pertaining to his future have dealt a hard blow to the faithful.
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Johnson left a crack in the door when he turned down WrestleMania 39. The senior journalist, however, said one shouldn’t count on it.
“Dwayne Johnson, when he turned down this year due to schedule, did leave a crack in the door open about possibly doing Philadelphia at WrestleMania 40 next year, but that was far from a commitment and certainly nothing anyone should count on happening,” Meltzer said.

Reacting to the report, fans have turned against The People’s Champ and took to Twitter to vent their anger.
One fan stated his disappointment.
Just stay away the moment passed

Some fans expressed their dissatisfaction with The Rock’s commitment to the WWE.
Far from committed is a good description of Rock and WWE further last 15 years. Let him be a bad movie star, make a new star.

Don't need this man now.

The WWE does not NEED him for Mania.
The future is now and there are plenty of stars waiting, working and ready to perform in the spotlight.— Mike (@JudgeDawkins) April 10, 2023
Man, if it didn't happen this year then I don't believe it ever will.
Mania this year was the perfect time, he had plenty of advance notice that they wanted him for the show, and Rock still said no.

One fan urged the WWE universe to let The Rock make his comeback on his own terms.
Bro just leave it alone, I don’t know why we keep trying to get him back, he can be at the start of the xfl season but can’t show up at mania, just leave it, he’ll come back at on his own time.

One cannot blame the fans, as not just one, but two instances might have heightened their interest in The Rock’s return.
Dwayne Johnson himself teased his WrestleMania 39 return
Hours before The Tribal Chief faced Cody Rhodes inside the ring during their main event match at WrestleMania 39, Johnson dropped a video from his gym, where he teased a potential return to ‘The Showcase of the Immortals’.
The Brahma Bull said he was excited about the match and, as usual, urged his Anoa’i bloodline to “Kick a**”.
“Electrify SoFi stadium. Do what you do. It is in our blood,” the wrestler-turned-actor said. However, Johnson dropped the bomb while ending the video. “And who knows, maybe, just maybe down the road I will see you in person. I will leave it at just that.”
Sending electric energy, love, gratitude and support to our WWE Universe, Team WWE and my fellow women and men @WWE & @WWENXT Superstars whom I will always have your backs. Make history this weekend, move the crowd and have fun.
