For all the hate he gets from the WWE Universe and some of his former employees, Vince McMahon is also beloved by many. It is unfathomable to think about a wrestling world with no McMahon. He jumpstarted the careers of many blockbuster names and turned them into global stars.

So, it is lovely to see that one of McMahon’s earliest megastar still remembers his boss on special occasions.

On his podcast, Kliq This,  WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash sat down to address all the discussion around the comparison he made between LA Knight and The Rock. While talking about this, in the middle, Nash also responded to some fan comments as well.

When a fan commented about Nash’s habit of wishing Vince McMahon on his birthday and happy Father’s Day out of respect, he corrected him. He said. “Not to keep it respectful, but because he was like a father figure to me. As we have gotten older, I have made sure to wish him a happy birthday. I think he knows that I genuinely like him as a human being, plus we’re both muscle heads. Within two minutes we’re talking about lifting.

While it is lovely to see that their relationship exists apart from the business, Nash and McMahon haven’t always been on the same page. When McMahon needed it the most, Nash and his tag partner, Scott Hall jumped ship and led to one of the biggest nightmares for McMahon in his entire wrestling career.

To say that Nash and McMahon have had a rocky relationship will undersell their history. During the most forgotten era of WWE, The New Generation, Nash was the top heel in the company. Holding the title for close to a year, he was McMahon’s favorite during that period. But soon after his title reign ended, Nash left the company alongside Razor Ramon to join WWE’s competitor WCW.

But when WWE bought out their competition, Nash returned to WWE, but with little fanfare, until 2011-12. But that wasn’t a happy ending as Nash stirred up controversy close to WWE’s sale. He revealed that he could have financial disputes with WWE for not paying up on his total royalty fee.
