Just One Week After Seth Rollins’ Acknowledgement, Top NXT Star Could Soon Find Himself on the WWE Main Roster

Just a week ago, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins returned to his roots to take on former NXT Champion Bron Breakker. Rollins, 37, took on the challenger with his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line. After jostling the 25-year-old inside the squared circle, the Monday Night Messiah overcame the challenge from the explosive NXT star and defend his belt.

But before he stepped inside the ring, Rollins had an interesting encounter with another top star. If reports are to be believed, that wrestler is scheduled for a big call-up in the near future.

WWE is planning a big main roster debut for the current NXT champion

Breakker dropped his gold to Carmelo Hayes at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 1. Since then, the new champion is enjoying a golden run. On the last episode of NXT, he even got a nod from Rollins himself. Melo and Trick Williams met The Visionary backstage and introduced himself. However, for a few seconds, the WWE Heavyweight Champion pretended to appear confused. Rollins soon burst out in cheerful laughter and said he was aware of the NXT champ and his friend.

Now, there’s a report which suggests that Melo might be up for a big debut on the main roster. Ring Side News reported that BWE tweeted about the development behind its private account. “Potential of Melo debut match at Raw v big ME Talent.” it said. [h/t: Ring Side News]

After Rollins’ match with Breakker, Hayes, and Williams rushed to the ring to save him from an attack from Finn Balor. Balor and Rollins are scheduled for a championship bout at Money In The Bank next weekend. On his personal front, the NXT champion will defend his belt against Baron Corbin in week two at NXT Gold Rush.

Meanwhile, Hayes also dropped a hint at who his next big opponent on the main roster could be.

Carmelo Hayes wants to fight Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has been the top WWE champion for three years now and everyone wants to strip him of the gold. Carmelo Hayes is no exception. But he has his eyes locked on another wrestler.

It is none other than Seth Freakin Rollins. During their short meet backstage at NXT, Rollins caught Melo staring hard at his belt. This also prompted him to tell the NXT champ to take care of his championship.

After the meeting, Hayes posted a picture of them on Twitter with an hourglass emoji, meaning it’s a matter of time. And not just that, he had spoken about facing Rollins during an interview last year.

“I’m on Twitter, I’m vocal as hell. I say exactly what I’m thinking. I’ve been saying Seth. He has to be the one. Me and Seth, I’m going to work that dude at WrestleMania. I really am. Me and Seth, that’s going to happen at WrestleMania. I feel it in my soul,” he told the hosts of the Black Announce Table podcast. [h/t: Fightful]
