The 21-year-old Ava Raine, who is currently wrestling in NXT, WWE’s developmental territory, attended the XFL championship on Saturday. In case you didn’t know, Raine is a fourth-generation pro-wrestler and belongs to one of the most decorated families in WWE history- The Anoa’i. If you still haven’t guessed, Raine is Dwayne Johnson’s eldest daughter.

Simone Garcia Johnson, who goes by her in-ring name Ava Raine in NXT, made her debut in the company in October last year. She is currently a part of The Schism stable. The Final Girl shared a video from the XFL finale. Her lens followed her legendary father as he entered the pitch a little less than an hour before the start of the game.

In a recent chat on The Pivot Podcast, The Rock shared how wrestling impacted his relationship with his eldest daughter.

He said that when Simone was born, he was still in his 20s and over the years, the two seldom got to spend time together as he was wrestling full-time and later transitioned to Hollywood to ply his trade there. However, that gap was fixed by pro wrestling. “Now, years later, as she becomes a pro wrestler, it’s actually brought us closer together. So, in a way, it’s helped save that relationship too. In many ways, pro wrestling has been my family’s savior,” The Great One said.

In 2020, shortly after Simone enrolled in WWE’s Performance Centre in Florida, her father dropped by and even shared his insights with the batch. While the 21-year-old has graduated to wrestling on television, emulating her father’s blueprint, she could lose it all.

Dwayne Johnson’s daughter’s wrestling future is not secure despite flourishing NXT career

Ava Raine is officially the first fourth-generation wrestler in the WWE. In the months following her debut, she had some impact on The Schism’s wins. Despite checking the right boxes, The Brahma Bull’s daughter’s future in wrestling isn’t secured. No, it’s not because of the lack of talent, as mentioned by fans recently. The reason is her knees.

Two years ago, Ava told the Swerve City Podcast that she blew her knees out completely, which halted several of her plans. One among them was going to NYU. She later changed her mind and moved to WWE’s Performance Centre instead to follow in her father’s footsteps.

If the knees act up again, it is likely to cut the 21-year-old career short. So far, they haven’t acted up, allowing her to jostle with fellow rising stars at NXT.
