Like her WWE Superstar husband, John Cena, Shay Shariatzadeh has achieved great success in her own right. Although she was born and raised in Canada, her family is from Iran. In 2013, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of British Columbia and has since been making waves in her chosen profession.

Shay and Cena’s relationship became public knowledge when they appeared at the Playing with Fire premiere. As soon as John laid eyes on “someone special,” he thought he had discovered the love of his life.

Regarding social media, Shay is inactive. When she does share a photo, it is always with her spouse at her side. The days leading up to Valentine’s Day were like that on set for ‘Ricky Stanicky’; Shay Shariatzadeh tagged along with a makeup-clad John Cena.

When Cena took up the role of Peacemaker in the titular show, Shay was on hand to call him a real-life superhero. While a big fan of her husband’s professional pursuits, Shay has carved her own path in the professional world.

John Cena’s wife also holds the position of Product Manager at SonaType. Since December 2019, she has been integral to the Vancouver firm. While Shariatzadeh is engaged in engineering, Cena is a professional wrestler.

Shay Shariatzadeh drew inspiration from her family members

Shariatzadeh told Avigilon that her brother was the one who pushed her to pursue engineering, even though she had always been good in math and physics. According to her, “I have always enjoyed math and physics. My brother studied engineering in school, and I remember one day he came home with a project, and it was an autonomous car — and that was it!”

Shariatzadeh said that her mother had a major influence in her life and that her mother shaped her into the person she is now.
