Fans in India are buzzing ever since WWE announced its return to the iconic country after 6 years, since 2017. With them barely containing their excitement, the icing on the cake came in the form of an announcement that John Cena would also visit India along with fellow wrestlers and crew. The 16-time world champion who last made his appearance in 2006, would grace the nation after 17 years.

With so much at stake, WWE can’t afford to disappoint their fans, in the way they present John Cena to his Indian audience. And they have not, as blockbuster reports have surfaced on his upcoming match in India.

Cena’s opponent for his first match in India revealed!

While Cena makes his comeback for the 1st September edition of SmackDown, his fans in Asia are drooling over his return to India. Especially since his last appearance was in 2006, as the WWE Champion.

While he never wrestled back then, he will look to change history by having his first wrestling match on the 8th of September for the Super Spectacle. With so much hype, WWE has finally announced their plans for Cena, and it’s monumental. While rumors were floating for him to face the intercontinental champion, Gunther, fans are getting a lot more on offer.

According to WWE, Cena is set to team up with the current World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to take on the Imperium in a blockbuster tag team match.

This also would be the first time the megastar faced Gunther in the ring, and what better way to have that matchup in the rich land in front of a ruckus crowd? It’ll also be interesting to see Cena and Rollins team up as they once had an intense rivalry over the Authority storyline in 2014 and for the WWE championship in 2015.
