While talking to GQ Magazine in 2022, Cena revealed that he has followed his mantra for success from WWE into Hollywood. After working hard for nearly 20 years in the WWE, it has not been an easy journey for The Doctor of Thuganomics in Hollywood. But Cena is still optimistic about his acting career.
Cena described his situation in Hollywood by saying, “So that’s kind of where I’m at, dipping my toes back into the screen side of entertainment rather than live events. And I realize, I’ve got my work to do, and I’m just trying to work as hard as I can to catch up to everybody else.” John Cena, who was the face of the WWE for over a decade, praised Hollywood for its mystique and luster.
He also clarified that though his stint at pro wrestling involved acting, it is still a completely different thing, even though it sounds the same.
He further said, “If you have any chance of success, you have to really, really prepare as much as you can. And if you feel you don’t have a head start, you’ve just got to put rubber to the road and work you’re a** off.”
Cena did not have any godfather in pro wrestling but became a global star by his hard work. He emphasized the importance of hard work in the absence of a head start.

His recent cameo in Barbie and appearances in the Fast franchise showcase how far he has come in Hollywood to cement his name.
Though a few of his projects have performed well on the big screen, he still has still hit bumps along the road like Vacation Friends 2 which has a 24% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
