Let’s admit it, John Cena is one of the most kind-hearted celebrities ever. The WWE icon-turned-Hollywood star always has an interesting perception of things. And he’s a great admirer of art. After all, the man himself is a great artist. In 2019, John Cena praised South African rapper/singer Sho Madjozi for her viral heartbreak song, “John Cena”.

The 31-year-old star’s high-energy song broke the internet after it was released. Madjozi employed the Hollywood star’s name to create a peppy heartbreak song. While Madjozi had her detractors, she made a fan out of John Cena.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Madjozi was asked to take center stage and perform her John Cena-inspired song. Unbeknownst to Madjozi, John Cena was present backstage. While she proceeded to entertain the studio with her song, John Cena snuck up from behind and surprised her. Sho Madjozi exuded nothing but excitement, prancing around as soon as she saw her muse.

After everybody settled in their seats, John Cena showered praise on the South African singer. The Cenation leader lauded her for creating something that inspired people.

He said, “People are finding inspiration in your song. And here’s what you don’t know. She explained it very candidly but her song is essentially about heartbreak right. But it’s really cool because it’s a high-energy song, and you can take something negative in your life and express it creatively and you’ve literally reached an audience around the world. I think it’s super, super empowering.”

John Cena further praised Madjozi for creatively expressing a breakup song with high energy. Madjozi found herself at a loss for words with her childhood crush sitting right beside her.

While speaking on A Little Late With Lilly Singh, the wrestling legend revealed his initial thoughts about the song when he first listened to it. Even though he loved it, his friends took umbrage.

Cena stated, “So I woke up one day, flooded with messages like, ‘man, you need to check out this link, you need to check this out right now. This girl is singing about you.’ I said, ‘that’s great’, and they said, ‘no it’s not, this girl is making fun of you, she’s using you in a song, you’ve got to stop this’.”

The Peacemaker actor further explained how he felt happy that a South African artist took inspiration from his contribution to the WWE. Furthermore, before John Cena met Sho Madjozi in the flesh, he took to Instagram to post a picture of “Stone Cold Show Madjozi”.
