Cena made his return to SmackDown on September 1. It was his first WWE appearance since the Money In The Bank PLE, which took place in July at The O2 Arena, London, United Kingdom. Ever since then, Cena has been at loggerheads with Jimmy Uso.

After telling the older Uso twin that he should have been the one to quit instead of his brother Jey, he hit The Bloodline member with an Attitude Adjustment. In later episodes, Jimmy Uso’s younger brother and stable mate Solo Sikoa also got involved as the brothers attacked the 16-time world champion.

On the September 25 episode of RAW, the promotion announced a 2-on-1 Handicap match between Cena and the brothers- Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. With no partners in sight, Cena looked to the internet for help. The revelation was made when he replied to a fan’s post, who tagged the pro wrestling legend while dressing like him.

The September 22 episode of SmackDown had several changes made to its program. One in particular was related to LA Knight. Even though he was advertised before the show, Knight’s segment was changed.

This, however, was a forced alteration as the SmackDown star tested positive for Covid. Had there been no changes, Knight would have come to Cena’s rescue, who was ambushed by Sikoa and Uso inside the ring.

Now, there are reports that Knight might team up with Cena at Fastlane. That, however, also depends on Knight’s health and medical clearance. He needs to test negative for COVID-19 and then get the necessary go-ahead to take part in the bout.
