John Cena Lifts 3-Time Grammy Award Winning Musician With One Hand in Henry Cavill’s Upcoming $200 Million Flick for Apple TV

Weighing around 250 pounds with a vertical of 6 feet 1 inches, John Cena packs about an average physical stat as a pro wrestler. But when it comes to feats of strength, the 16-time world champion stands above most of his peers. Several past and present wrestlers have raved about Cena’s superhuman strength, especially when picking up opponents almost twice his own weight.

While he might have traded his in-ring job for one in Hollywood, Cena still enjoys the status of being a part-time wrestler. Some of that attribute was visible in the freshly launched trailer of one of his upcoming films.

The trailer of Argylle has dropped! The film, based on the namesake book by Elly Conway, and directed by Matthew Vaughn, boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Henry Cavill, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa, and others.

After starring in the 2023 box-office hit Barbie, Lipa and Cena will be seen in the spy film as well. The trailer also showed Cena having a confrontation with the 3-time Grammy Award-winning artiste. When Lipa tries to flee the scene on a motorcycle after shooting at Cavill, who plays the titular role, Cena grabs her and picks her up single-handedly.

While the scene is likely filmed with the help of a harness and other protective techniques, the product on screen looked impressive, especially from a guy who has enthralled millions of people around the world with his brute force for over a decade.

Argylle is slated for release on February 2, 2024. The movie’s rights were reportedly acquired by Apple TV+ in August 2021 for a whopping $200 million.

Who does John Cena play in the film?

The identity of only a handful of characters in Argylle has been revealed so far. While Cavill plays Argylle, Sam Rockwell and Bryce Dallas Howard will portray Aiden and Elly Conway, respectively.

The name of John Cena’s character isn’t revealed yet. He was, however, seen traveling with Cavill together in a boat. Cena also stopped Lipa after the latter attacked Cavill, so, it is likely that Cena will play Cavill’s accomplice.
