John Cena has 2+ decades of experience in pro wrestling. Being a veteran in this field, he knows how to deal with the highs and lows of this industry. So when he got the chance to bestow some knowledge and wisdom on a current champion, he didn’t let go of the opportunity.

He faced Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 in April for the United States Championship in a losing effort. Before their match at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals,’ the two stars made sure to berate one another in every way possible.

However, all the mean things they said to one another were a part of their storyline, meant to spice things up in their feud. In fact, veteran Cena in-reality gave some valuable advice to the young and talented Theory after their match on April 1.

John Cena advised Austin Theory to not be afraid of failure

The reigning United States Champion recently appeared in a virtual interview with The Babyfaces Podcast. During the interview, he disclosed what advice Cena gave him after their WrestleMania bout. He revealed ‘The Champ’ told him to not be afraid of failure.

He said, “Something that John says that you could say, a lot of people say, but it’s so true, not being afraid to fail and betting on yourself and just going for it. And a lot of times that’s what holds a lot of us back from things is us just worried about this or that. And it might not even be you.”

Theory stated that Cena told him to bet on himself and not care about other people’s opinions as it might change his own viewpoint about himself. Often we humans spend so much time and energy thinking about what others might think of us, which is just futile. The only opinion that should matter to you is your own opinion.

He added that the 16-time World Champion’s advice proved to be very helpful to him, as he was relaxed and chilled that day.

All thanks to Cena, Theory savored his WrestleMania moment to the fullest

During the interview, ‘A-Town Down’ stated that on the day of their match, Cena asked him to enjoy the day and his WrestleMania moment. This helped him to relieve the pressure on his mind and he felt relaxed. Performing at ‘The Grandest Stage of them All’ makes even the veterans nervous. So when Cena said so, his nervousness vanished.
