Summer Rae went from being an in-ring announcer for NXT to becoming a wrestler in 2013. Since then, she has accomplished much on NXT, following her stint on the main roster. Despite having a disappointing, albeit interesting feud with Lana and Rusev, WWE officially released her in 2017. Rae returned to the company in 2022 but has not featured much. Nevertheless, she shared insight into the WWE Princess’s tenacity to slap others hard.

Stephanie McMahon is the WWE’s legit Slap Queen

Stephanie McMahon is not just the daughter of Vince McMahon; she is also the princess of the empire called the WWE. Her father took the company to new heights by becoming a heel in multiple storylines. In a similar vein, Stephanie followed her father’s footsteps and, with her husband Triple H, formed The Authority. During her reign over storylines, they gave her multiple nicknames, one being the ‘Slap Queen.’
In an episode of INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Rae sat down to talk about multiple aspects of her life in the WWE. During this, he mentioned that Stephanie is known as the ‘Slap Queen’ in the WWE. She is known to slap wrestlers around, and there’s always a reaction from the crowd when it happens. Rae confirmed the title and gave a good example of why she is the legit Slap Queen.
She went on to talk about the incident with the Big Show. “She’ll slap you in the ear; she slapped Big Show in the ear,” she said. This was about the October 7th episode of RAW in 2013. This was during the feud between The Authority and Show. After belittling Show for attacking officials, she slapped him hard. Rae said that if Show was ever in Vliet’s interview, he should ask him about the slap.
Concluding the segment, she talked about how Stephine aimed for the ear when she slapped Show. “She’s the slap Queen but it’s wild,” she said, concluding the segment. Stephanie is notorious for slapping wrestlers while in her heel persona. She had done it to multiple prominent names in the WWE, including the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, and Ric Flair.
Nevertheless, Stephanie McMahon enjoyed a mesmerizing run as a WWE personality as she played the face and the heel throughout her tenure.

Stephanie McMahon’s reasons for joining the WWE and her rise as a heel
Stephanie joined the WWE in a kayfabe storyline with Test back in 1999. Many people don’t know this, but pro wrestling legend Vince Russo was the first to suggest Stephanie play a character in the WWE. Similarly, The Undertaker was the first to refer to Stephanie as a character he could use to get into Vince McMahon‘s head. Stephanie McMahon joined the WWE due to these reasons.
Even during her initial run in the company, she played a babyface for a short period. Turning heel whenever she could to make the most out of being the daughter of Mr. McMahon. The most memorable babyface runs she’s had was getting abducted by the Ministry of Darkness and the Triple H and Randy Orton feud in March 2009. She has played the heel persona very well, and fans love to hate her for it. From insulting the stars to slapping, she earned the right to be the heel queen of the WWE.
