Ever since Tony Khan’s AEW broke into the wrestling scene in 2019, pro wrestlers have gone to and fro between the two promotions. Although Tony Khan has shown immense interest in poaching many of WWE’s ex-performers, Vince McMahon has been very calculative. Though the signings are low, each talent has been exceptional for WWE, including Cody Rhodes.
The other notable signing is Jade Cargill, who made her first appearance at Fastlane. Upon her arrival, Rhodes was in praise for Jade Cargill during a post-event conference, while also addressing a major change in WWE since his return.

WWE Fastlane PLE is down in the history books now. One of the notable things to happen at Fastlane was the change in Tag Team Champions as the duo of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defeated The Judgment Day. The win not only marked the beginning of an unlikely pairing of Rhodes and Uso but also gave Rhodes his first title since his return.
The Fastlane PLE had a brief segment to start. Jade Cargill arrived in a white car with her white wrestling gear on. Welcoming her was WWE Creative Head Triple H. Though she did not participate in any other segment, it was exciting enough to mark the arrival of Cargill to WWE.
Her former AEW mate, Cody Rhodes, was aware of her arrival. After his win at Fastlane, Rhodes addressed Cargill’s arrival at the post-event conference. Rhodes spoke highly of Cargill during his interview and said, “I was very excited for her to make this jump and very proud”.
Cargill is coming on the back of a stupendous run at AEW where she lost only one match after a 61-match winning streak. Standing at a billed height of 5’10 feet and 161 lbs, she lost her only match to Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship match.

During the same press conference, Cody Rhodes sat alongside his tag-team partner, Jey Uso. Dressed in a suit, he also praised WWE for working as a team now. Rhodes revealed that he didn’t see a team mindset when he was with WWE from 2007 to 2015.
When he returned to WWE in 2022, there was a significant change in the leadership as Triple H took over from Vince McMahon. He said, “There is a mindset here in WWE that did not exist. Maybe it did and I didn’t notice it, but it didn’t exist when I was here the first time. That it is the most team-minded group I’ve ever seen, as far as a show comes together. And this is an individual business, it’s tricky, it’s political, it’s show business, right?” He later revealed that he was proud of coming back to WWE after his stint at NJPW and AEW.
