The self-proclaimed Best in The World reverted to his old wrestling home following a decade-long hiatus and immediately left everyone on the edge of their seats. And that ‘everyone’ includes a main event superstar who spilled his first thought after seeing Punk back in his boots a little while back.

Yes, we are talking about none other than the former Bloodline member Jey Uso and his honest take on the Second City Saint’s homecoming.

Jey Uso seems to be pleased with the most unforgettable return in history. Unlike Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, the marked foes of Punk’s second WWE stint, Uso deems him as a benefit. During an interview, Uso noted the company rightly brought Punk’s fan-favorite status to the favor of the WWE roster for the sake of the industry as a whole.  ”It was a surprise. You could tell all of us in there as soon as the music hit we all like stopped being characters. We’re just like standing in the middle ring talking ‘you know? You know what’s going on here?’ I think there’s a clip of me and Randy in there talking that’s on the Internet you see Seth going ham down there.” he revealed.

Adding on this, Uso continued, ”But nah man I had no clue and that’s the fun thing about wrestling like you think you know it all sometimes and man it’s cool to be surprised every now and then cuz you know because we’re getting the same reaction as the fans at the same time. Sometimes we do know but it’s cool when you get the reactions of like you get to experience like The CM Punk’s return.”

The Raw star talked about the joy of experiencing the shock and awe that the promotion had delivered. He did reiterate that sometimes talents are told ahead of time about surprise returns to showcase a particular emotion or develop an angle for the future. However, the return of Punk came as a shock to many. This included the superstars in the ring, such as Randy Orton and himself.

Moving onto Punk’s future WWE move, it seems he’s actively trying to gain entry into a popular faction.

Despite not getting a unanimous positive reaction CM Punk has managed to make a few friends. And he’s ready to take those friendships to a harmonious in-ring alliance by officially joining the ranks of their team. The team here indicates the notorious Damage CTRL. Bayley’s stable’s recent cracks couldn’t refrain Punk from setting his eyes on the group. In a public Instagram comment, Punk noted that he had sent an application to gain entry into the faction.

However, for now, he’s eagle-eyed on his Royal Rumble mission. Perhaps, when he wins the Rumble and usurps the champion of his choice at WrestleMania, he can make a better case for his inclusion into the all-female faction. Nevertheless, it’s undeniable to admit that the former AEW star’s return has sent shockwaves through the industry, which still affects many today.
