Drew McIntyre is a fierce name in WWE. He started his career with the promotion at the age of 22 and departed in 2014. After a brief hiatus, the Scottish Warrior returned in 2017 with a more mean and menacing look. Even though the star is a face at the promotion, he is one of the feared ones. But past a few events, luck was not on his side as he has lost a few important fights. Now McIntyre has a chance to redeem himself.
At the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE, he is set to clash againstthe existing World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. And here are some reasons why Drew McIntyre might be the next holder of the title.

Almost three years ago, McIntyre won the WWE Championship title at WrestleMania 36 after defeating Brock Lesnar. In the Hell in a Cell PLE held in the same year, he lost that title to The Viper, Randy Orton. A few days later, he secured his title back from Orton, only to lose it again to The Miz at the 2021 Elimination Chamber. Apart from that, he was moments away from defeating the Tribal Chief to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. However, during their Clash at the Castle match last year, the fight was interrupted by the Usos and Solo Sikoa, and so he succumbed to defeat.
Now fans would love to see The Scottish Terminator get his hands on a title. And he might be the perfect fit for Rollins’s title. The Visionary has faced many adversaries in the past, including Shinsuke Nakamura. The feud between him and Nakamura started on the August 14 episode of Raw when he blindsided Rollins with a Kinshasa. Since then, tensions peaked between both stars as Nakamura wanted his title. But the fight was finally settled when Rollins defeated Nakamura at the WWE Fastlane in 2023. After Nakamura, McIntyre could be the perfect fit to take over the title from Rollins.
But apart from that, it is very important for McIntyre to win this title. After all, it could indirectly affect his contract at WWE.
Is McIntyre’s WWE stint set to come to a close?
Rumors about Drew McIntyre leaving WWE soon are everywhere. Even though nothing is confirmed as of now, it is said that his contract is set to expire somewhere in early 2024. During a visit to India during the WWE Superstar Spectacle, he gave a very neutral answer when asked about these claims. However, if his contract is set to expire next year, then securing the gold means a lot to him. Considering the recent events, there are speculations that McIntyre will soon turn a heel. And the WWE could establish this after he defeats a face at a very prominent premium live event.

Both these things are set as he will be facing Rollins at Crown Jewel on November 4th. But if he ends up winning the title, fans would love to see how the new heavyweight champion defends his title against other predators. Apart from that, it could also lead to Damian Priest cashing in his briefcase for a title shot against McIntyre. For all this to happen, WWE might end up extending his contract. So winning this title matters much more now.
