The latest edition of NXT saw a very brutal No-Disqualification matchup between Bron Breakker and Von Wagner. While the match lived up to expectations, what followed left the fans gasping in shock. WWE blurred the line between kayfabe and real life. Von Wagner, who performed valiantly against Bron Breakker, was wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher.
The 29-year-old star recently experienced a career resurgence. WWE even did a good job of capitalizing on his personal problems from the past and weaving them into storylines. But what unraveled at NXT sent shivers down the spines of viewers.

While it’s true that Von Wagner had a character change a few weeks ago, it is also true that Bron Breakker had drifted to the dark side. That said, Breaker displayed his unhinged side on NXT after a grueling No-Disqualification match.
At first, Wagner seemed to gain control of the match. In fact, he even put Breakker through a table. However, it wasn’t enough, as Breakker fought through and picked up the win. In typical villainous fashion, Breakker flew off the handle and decided to add insult to injury post-match.
WWE cameras even cut the transmission when the 25-year-old lifted up the steel steps and smashed Von Wagner’s head while he lay on another set of steel steps. After a while, Wagner was seen being wheeled out of the arena with a bandaged head. The bandage was visibly soaked in blood.
As the EMTs helped transport Wagner on the gurney, we also saw NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels walking with the group. We should note that WWE hasn’t done as wild a spot as this one in a long time. At this point, it’s unclear if Von Wagner’s injury is legitimate or a part of the storyline. Furthermore, WWE later shared the update that Wagner was sent to a local hospital. Off-topic, Von Wagner was once believed to be one of Vince McMahon’s favorite stars.

In the unsafe setting of pro wrestling, accidental injuries are bound to happen. However, it can’t be said for sure that this spot was kayfabe.
