Current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens wrestled Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in one of the main event matches at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. Zayn had last wrestled in the Middle Eastern kingdom in 2014. Making his return after nearly a decade, the Canadian superstar witnessed a loud pop as he entered the arena dressed in a thobe.

Another superstar who was overwhelmed with emotions by seeing Zayn getting the cheers was his longtime friend Becky Lynch. Just minutes before that, Lynch had injured her face during her bout with Trish Stratus, but that didn’t stop the Irish wrestler from celebrating her friend’s success. And fans were equally happy for the duo.

Zayn and Owens managed to keep their belts following the massive drama that unfolded inside the Jeddah Superdome. But even before it all began, Zayn managed to sway the crowd in his favor by introducing himself and his partner in Arabic, minutes before the bell was sounded.

However, he had already made an impression by deciding to don the regional garb. Seeing her friend being welcomed by a rapturous crowd, Lynch couldn’t control her emotions. She said, “I don’t know why I get so emotional for these two. The pop, I think that’s the loudest pop of the night.”

Zayn shared the video on Twitter and captioned it: “She’s The Man”.

It was soon flooded with positive reactions from fans, who hailed the friendship and the individuals.

Before becoming WWE superstars and having millions of fans, Becky Lynch, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn wrestled in the independent circuit. According to the former women’s tag team champion, the three met during a wrestling tour in Italy, which she described as “poorly organized”.

“17 years ago, I met Kevin and Sami on a poorly organized wrestling tour in Italy. After a week I knew we would be friends for life, but they’re like brothers to me now,” one of Lynch’s Instagram posts read.

She admitted crying after Zayn and Owens captured their undisputed tag team belts from The Usos at WrestleMania 39. The match was the main event of night one at the SoFi stadium in Los Angeles on April 1.

Lynch had also won her match during the 2-day marquee event, managing to retain her tag team belt with Lita. However, she has lost her gold, after a bitter betrayal by one of her WrestleMania 39 aides, Trish Stratus. The two women superstars are currently at loggerheads, with Stratus having the last laugh at the Saudi Arabian PLE. The men’s tag team winners are looking for their next challenger after going over the Tribal Chief and Enforcer of The Bloodline.
