In 2019, Ric Flair appeared on The Steve Austin Show, where he talked about his friendship with Hulk Hogan. He shared an incident when The Hulkster helped Flair pay the bills for rehab for Reid Flair. The Nature Boy shared Reid getting a WWE contract and was ready to go. However, his mom asked Flair to call WWE and “say that he needed to get more money”.

The Nature Boy hadn’t seen the contract, and Reid was very sick. If he had got the WWE contract, the company would’ve paid for the rehab. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen and Flair paid for all the six rehabs which cost a fortune. But he doesn’t regret it.

Flair said, “I don’t regret a dime of it. No health insurance because everybody gets cash when you’re at that level. And do you know who I went to for help one time? Hulk. Because I was almost $500,000 in [debt for] rehab therapy and they don’t take credit cards.”

The Nature Boy added, “It’s in his hands and it’s $40,000 a pop. Do you know what I mean? Plus all the stuff that goes along with it, so Hulk was there, man. And I could never ever thank him enough and we’ve become great friends.”

In the 30-for-30 episode Flair shared, he was in denial of his son’s problems while a WWE tryout. However, as WrestleZone covered the aftermath of Triple H’s comments in the episode, Hunter also told Naitch denied Reid’s problems after the first drug test.

Like a true friend, Hogan was standing behind Flair as a support system in his difficult times. Clearly, their friendship has grown over the years. The Nature Boy sometimes visits Hogan’s Hangout and both have a karaoke competition and enjoy it.

Eric Bischoff asked Flair about Hogan

In this same show, the 16-time world champion shared a conversation with Eric Bischoff. He recalled the former WCW top official asked The Nature Boy how Hulk Hogan was as a person and as a wrestler before signing.

Flair reminisced, sharing the experience of having a few matches with The Hulkster in WWE in the year 1991-92. Hence, based on that experience of The Nature Boy, Bischoff signed Hogan to WCW.
