Although there’s just a small fine line between confidence and arrogance, a violation of that line can make a lot of difference in a person’s core nature. It’s especially relevant to the current AEW sensation Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF. Fans are pretty well aware of his over-the-top way of representing himself to the outer world. MJF’s bursts of self-approbation sometimes go so extreme that it comes as nothing but a mere reflection of his cocky mindset.

The AEW World Champion’s reputation in the business can’t be questioned, but his savage on-screen gestures are certainly subject to controversy. From splashing a drink in a child’s face during a live event to passing an utterly shocking comment to a young fan, MJF barely fails to rile up fans. Now, the 27-year-old has undermined the collective glory of AEW and WWE to establish self-supremacy.

Both the rival promotions WWE and AEW are currently riding high with their record-breaking ticket sales for WrestleMania and All In, respectively. While Tony Khan moved one step ahead of his vision of a stellar event at Wembley Stadium, London, dispersing copious amounts of tickets to the fans so far, WWE, on the other hand, crossed its all-time highest gate record on the opening day of WrestleMania 40 ticket sales.

The statistic garnered a host of positive reactions from the wrestling faithful all across the world. But MJF has to be MJF. Staying true to his heel persona, the self-proclaimed ‘generational’ talent put himself over the two wrestling giants.

Taking to Twitter he wrote, ”Both companies setting attendance/gates records left and right. Pro wrestling is winning. The fans are winning. But most importantly, and I think we can all agree on this, I’m winning. #Betterthanyou’.”

While the smell of haughtiness is quite visible in his post, MJF has the perfect backup from long-time friend cum peer Adam Cole to cement his ‘better than you’ claim.

Adam Cole is a fanboy of MJF. While we don’t know if most of the wrestling world would see eye to eye with him in this matter or not, Cole comes up as honestly as possible to heap praise on the fellow wrestling superstar, MJF.

Cole and MJF are real-life buddies and have been working together on-screen in AEW. The former NXT champion admits he saw a certain spark in MJF in his rookie days in the business. He was already a step ahead of the others on the roster in terms of great talking skills and in-ring antics.

His penchant for drowning himself in controversies more often than not might be his way of adding to his magnetic villainous persona regardless of the heaps of negative comments.

Cole also believes that the current form of MJF isn’t the highest for him. He has yet to unleash his full potential on the roster. The duo is soon to team up to take on ROH World Championships Aussie Open in the upcoming All-In. They will also face each other for the World title at the pay-per-view.
