Over the years, fans have witnessed several iconic matches in WWE involving some of the most popular legends. The Yesteryears had stars such as Dwayne Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Undertaker who put forward legendary matches.

However, while the fans have their own opinion on the matches, several WWE superstars also put forward their thoughts about the matches in the company. Recently, a WWE legend on his own podcast opened up on his most special match, two scores ago.

Which WWE legend opened up on his most special match against Dwayne Johnson?

Former WWE champion and Olympic gold medallist, Kurt Angle recently opened up on his podcast about the most memorable and special match in his career. When inquired about his two world title wins in WWE and TNA, Angle would choose the former as his most special one.

Speaking on the podcast, he stated, “first one because it was against The Rock. It was my very first world title. That was my special one because I literally did that within a year when I started on TV. It was in my rookie year.”

Angle further continued, “And half a year later, I beat Stone Cold Steve Austin for the world championship. I beat two of the biggest names in the business by my first and a half year in the business. That’s crazy.” He would further compare the two wins, and again choose the one against The Rock as his most special W.

The 54-year-old concluded with, “But if I had to compare them, because the first one was my very first world title that was the most special one, that was the one I will remember the most. ” Angle entered the industry as a national hero, who won the Olympic gold medal with a broken neck, and was provided a massive push by the promotion.

It saw Angle reach new heights, and enter a legendary status within a few years in the company. He would win his first world title in 2000, and 19 years later would retire after losing to Baron Corbin. Nevertheless, did you know that Kurt Angle claimed his first world title win in the face of adversity?

While Angle won the Olympic gold medal with a ‘broken freakin neck’, he won his first WWE Championship while suffering a concussion. At No Mercy 2000, Angle would face The Rock for the world title run, and defeat The Brahma Bull while suffering from a concussion.

Despite suffering a major head injury, Angle would hold his ground and defeat Dwayne Johnson to win his first WWE Championship. And, within the next few months, he would defeat Stone Cold Steve Austin to win his second WWE Championship.

Despite being in his early years, Angle also helped build several future WWE legends, such as John Cena and never posed as a selfish worker. Always destined for greatness, Kurt Angle achieved every inch of it.
