On his newest episode, JR revealed the way he was trying to help Hardy during his first singles run in WWE. Ross argued that Hardy was burned out by wrestling. At the time, Hardy had already revolutionized the tag team division with his brother, Matt Hardy, putting on tag team classics regularly. While he sat him down, Hardy didn’t know what he wanted at the time.

Ross further explained, “He wasn’t sure what he wanted. But I knew what I wanted. I wanted a guy that was not getting high. Before he wrestled. I mean, that’s just insanity. Can’t do it. So I think he’s a little bit burned out, you know, and some guys handled pressure in different ways. It’s not an automatic fit. And I don’t know that he was ready for his ascension.

Jeff Hardy’s downfall after leaving WWE for the first time

While in TNA, Hardy became an instant star and jumped to the top of the card. But this came at the cost of more drug abuse backstage. Even after putting on splendid matches, he wasn’t showing up to the show after being promoted to be there. Soon after that, Hardy found himself in WWE again, but this time he came with a new spirit.

Not only did he win the Intercontinental championship but also won 2 world championships as well. But he left after losing to Punk because of injuries. Then he went back to TNA, this time for a very long time, creating his alter egos, Willow and Brother Nero.

Then in 2017, The Hardy Boyz returned to WWE. But this time Hardy didn’t see a lot of singles victories. This stint at WWE would also not last long because of a lot of personal reasons. Now in AEW, Hardy put on brilliant matches but the fans were worried about seeing his health declining in the ring. Soon after, AEW took Hardy off TV because of getting into trouble outside the company.
