“I Want Will Smith’s Career”: Dwayne Johnson Once Revealed His Agents’ Unpleasant Reaction to His Bold Hollywood Goals

Dwayne Johnson and Will Smith have given out multiple hit blockbuster movies to the world of cinema. However, when it comes to their acting journey, there is quite a difference between them. Smith kick-started his career in acting itself.

But Johnson gave a shot at pro wrestling before he transitioned into the world of acting. That being said, when the wrestler-turned-actor was still struggling to settle in Hollywood, he had a goal in mind. And it was to become a bigger actor than Smith. But some didn’t believe he had the potential to do it.

DJ was on top when he left the wrestling business to test his skills in Hollywood. Though some believed it was not a wise move, he followed his gut and did it, anyway. He left WWE with the hope to gain stardom and success like Will Smith.

In 2021, speaking at a conference for NBA team Los Angeles Lakers players, Johnson mentioned his agents mocked his dream. The agency who he worked with at that time thought that he didn’t have what it takes to become a big star like Smith.

“I sat down with the agency that I was with, and they said, what do you want to accomplish? I said, I want to accomplish the world, I want the world and I want Will Smith’s career, but I want to do it bigger and better. And they looked at me like I had three heads. And they were like, Umm, yea, okay,” said The Great One.

At the time when The Rock was about to begin his acting journey, Smith was already on top of the food chain. With years of success in the industry, Smith was the biggest star during the time period. His agency highly doubted that he would ever reach Smith’s level.

However, he proved his naysayers wrong. Now The People’s Champion gives equal completion to the American actor in terms of stardom and fame. In fact, he has even surpassed Smith when it comes to their net worth. Will Smith’s current net worth is around $350 million, whereas The Rock’s net worth stands at around $800 million.

Not to forget that, The ‘People’s Champion’s other business ventures also add up to a gigantic sum to his net worth. Therefore, it would be an injustice to say that any of the two actors is better than the other. Both the actors are fan favorites and talented in their own way. But DJ has indeed come a long way to find his place at the top of the Hollywood celebrity mountain.
