It is a no-brainer that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has established himself as a prominent face of WWE. Fans and critics would agree that there is something natural about him whenever he is in the ring and it does not come out as forced. The same goes for other stars such as Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and many more. This could be attributed to the fact that these stars are a part of a ‘legacy’ and hence, are natural. While Dominik Mysterio is a relatively new face (or rather heel) of the company, Mark Henry believes that there is one trait of Mysterio that keeps him on par with WWE legends such as Johnson himself.

What is common between Dominik Mysterio and Dwayne Johnson?

In the latest episode of Busted Open, the AEW talent scout stated what he feels makes the two completely different stars alike. While talking about Dominik Mysterio, he said, “I put him in the same category as The Rock and the Harts and people that come from pro wrestling.” The former stablemate of The Rock believes that since Mysterio and Johnson came from a wrestling background, they fall in the same category where they utilize the skills they’ve picked up as a kid while watching their fathers in the ring.

Henry believes that what Dirty Dom is doing is instinctive and not trained. He believes that years of observing his father in the ring have helped him hone those skills and translate them into the current scenario. Even though Dominik Mysterio is at odds with his father Rey Mysterio, fans know that the star is in a way carrying out his father’s legacy.

While the Lucha Libre was mostly known for his role as the face of the company, Dirty Dom has established himself as a dominant heel. Fans of Rey Mysterio might still not have forgiven him for turning against his father.

However, there is a unanimous agreement that he is good at what he is doing as a heel. After all, it was the moment that helped him walk out of his father’s shadow.

What makes Dominik Mysterio different?

While a lot of fans hate him, it is what makes him a good heel. Mysterio started off his career under his father’s wings. However, things changed pretty quickly at the Clash at the Castle PLE in 2022. The tag team of Rey Mysterio and Edge defeated Judgment Day and was celebrating their victory. It’s when Dom Dom and WWE decided that it was time to spice things up. Fans still remember the moment when Dominik Mysterio clotheslined his way to attack both Edge and Rey Mysterio, making him the new member of the heel stable.

One WWE star believes that this was Dominik Mysterio cracking the code for a possibly successful career in the future. Ilja Dragonav, who is known for his work at NXT stated that the 26-year-old star shed off all the responsibilities from his shoulders once he betrayed his father. Dragonav stated that hailing from a background that has a Hall of Famer ends up putting too much pressure on the star. But what Mysterio is doing now is not relying on his family name and is trying to forge his own path. Do you agree with Dragonav and Mark Henry? Do you think Dominik Mysterio has the potential to come to par with Dwayne Johnson in the future?
