While speaking to Daniel Cormier ahead of his highly anticipated match at SummerSlam 2023, Rollins had some kind words for his opponent Balor. While the two are in an intense feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and have a bitter history, they share a mutual respect. Fans are excited to see the two have a showdown at SummerSlam.

Rollins said, “I may not have a wife and family if it wasn’t for him.” This hints at Lynch not joining the WWE if it weren’t for Balor. The two trained together, and when WWE came looking for new talent, the two got signed by the NXT division. Had Balor not trained her to be a professional wrestler, she may not have ended up in WWE and Rollins would not have met his wife. For this, he is very grateful to Balor.

While talking about the upcoming match Rollins said that he hopes Balor is in the right headspace because “I want the best Finn Balor,” he said. He continued by saying he wanted the best of Balor as it brought out the best of Rollins.

When Lynch wanted to learn the craft of professional wrestling, she had one option in Ireland. This was the Fight Factory, run by Balor and Paul Tracy. Balor was her main trainer while learning the fundamentals. Once she was ready, the two traveled together while competing in local shows.

While Balor broke through New Japan Pro Wrestling to lead the Bullet Club, Lynch quit wrestling to take up a normal job. When the WWE went around looking for new names for their women’s division, Lynch got her big break.

The two reunited in NXT, where both were over with the fans. While Balor was loved for his time in NJPW and became the NXT Champion, Lynch was part of the Four Horsewomen. She is still credited as a pioneer of the modern women’s division in wrestling. Even today, as her husband feuds with Balor, the two are still close. They love sharing and gathering knowledge as they go higher in their careers.
