With only hours left for the much-awaited WrestleMania 40 kickoff, Dwayne Johnson revealed a key reason behind his almost decade-long return to wrestling. The Rock has been in a major negative light ever since he inserted himself in Cody Rhodes’ story.

Rhodes won the 2024 Royal Rumble to earn himself a WrestleMania 40 main event against Roman Reigns. However, fans would see a returning Dwayne Johnson take Rhodes’ spot. Speaking to Pat McAfee ahead of the WrestleMania 40 kickoff, The Rock had plenty of things to say. One of which was the reason behind his return to WWE.

As soon as Dwayne Johnson made his return and took Cody Rhodes’ spot, fans on the internet went crazy. Online petitions started, and some even started sending death threats to Johnson’s daughter Ava Raine. While fans believed Johnson to be hogging the spotlight, he revealed a vital reason behind his return.

 

The Rock said to Pat McAfee, “Dude, I love it. And, that’s why. I don’t have to go back. I have been lucky enough to get to this point in my career. But I love what I do, and I love getting in there. And I love pro wrestling.”

He further revealed that he was born and bred to be in this business. The Brahma Bull continued, “It’s who I am, it’s who I was born to do. I was born in this business.”

Fans now need to wait till the WrestleMania 40 kickoff to witness what unfolds between The Rock, Roman Reigns, and even Cody Rhodes. Confused about choosing his WrestleMania 40 opponent, Rhodes might finally have a decision at the Kickoff.

Dwayne Johnson reveals what made him go after Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40

At the same podcast, The Rock revealed to Pat McAfee what particular moment instigated him into going after The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. The Hollywood actor and former wrestler said, “From the second Roman Reigns said ‘I’m the head of the table, I’m the head of The Bloodline’, that’s when our story began.”

With tribal honor at stake, both Roman Reigns and Dwayne Johnson will enter the WrestleMania 40 kickoff full of passion. And with Cody Rhodes’ story also at stake, fans will now need to wait and see what unfolds in Las Vegas. Rumors of a triple threat, special guest referee, and much more are floating around, but nothing is of yet confirmed.
