John Cena is on a great run outside the realm of WWE. The wrestler is completely dedicated to his Hollywood career where he continues to establish a foothold and garner admiration for his work. And now he is all set to feature in the espionage thriller ‘Argylle’. The movie chronicles the adventures of a superspy protagonist on his travels around the world. John Cena has previously worked with Dua Lipa in the film ‘Barbie’. Cena played the role of a male mermaid named ‘Kenmaid’ while the pop icon too played a pink mermaid. And this is the second time that the two will be sharing the screen. Considering this dynamic, Paul asked the 46-year-old if he was friends with the pop star. Cena replied, “Yes, and I hope yes.” However, Paul questioned the bond as he thought that the two weren’t friends as per what he had heard. He explained by saying, “I feel like that you guys aren’t friends at all that’s what I just heard” However, he clarifies it himself as he adds, “No, but you’re like you’re colleagues; you’re peers; you work together.”

However, we think otherwise, as we would like to believe that the two are friends. After all, the singer previously told Rolling Stone that she considers Cena her “emotional support actor.” She said, “It seems like I can’t seem to do anything without him. He’s really my emotional support actor. It was fab, and he’s amazing, and I absolutely love working with John. He’s such a great guy and so lovely.”
During an interview with PEOPLE, Cena too opened up about his interactions with Dua Lipa on the sets. He said, “We shot this before Barbie, so this was her first opportunity to appear on screen. She was vulnerable enough to admit that she was nervous.” So it looks like the two share a mutual admiration for each other after all, and they might even be friends.
