The star we are talking about is none other than WWE’s former Tag Team Champion, Matt Hardy. Big Money Matt is pretty confident that the speculation will come to fruition. That said, he doesn’t think it can be a head-turner for the seasoned fanbase.

Ever since The Rock made a crackling return on the September 15th episode of SmackDown, the ever-popular notion of Johnson facing off with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion started to gain traction. It’s especially so as Johnson launched a massive tease ahead of his return. While taking to Pat McAfee, The Great One brought up the context of his scrapped main event match with Roman Reigns at last year’s WrestleMania. It was followed by an open challenge to Reigns to join him in the ring this year in Philadelphia.

Now, former tag team champion Matt Hardy took part in the ongoing buzz but put it up with a unique angle. Hardy believes it will certainly end up happening at WrestleMania next year but is less likely to make a stir among hardcore wrestling fanatics. Although it will bring a banger for the casual fans.

During a recent edition of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the AEW star noted, ”I do think it will happen, and I do think it will be a huge draw. I don’t think the diehard wrestling fans will get the match that they want, but it’s going to be a huge spectacle, one that will have casual fans extremely interested in, and they’re gonna wanna tune in and watch it.”

However, there might be a certain condition for The Rock vs Roman Reigns to happen. At least, wrestling veteran Disco Inferno believes so.

Speaking on Keepin’ It 100 With Konnan And Disco, Disco Inferno revealed that there’s some connection between Nia Jax’s comeback and The Rock’s return at the same time.

The 55-year-old noted that re-signing the former Champion could have been one of The Rock’s conditions to face Roman Reigns as well if it happens.

All of these are still in a state of speculation, as WWE hasn’t given an official nod yet. But fans can not hold their horses to see the two legends squaring off at the grandest stage.
