“I Don’t Really Get the Opportunity” : 34-Year-Old Superstar Slams WWE for Not Allowing Him to Build Compelling Storylines Like Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is currently enjoying the run of his life. After returning last year at WrestleMania 38, Rhodes was quickly pushed to the top of the roster as one of the main eventers. However, his sudden push to the top prevented the eventual push or growth of several others.

Although Rhodes is equally deserving of his current run and push, other superstars on the rosters feel they could have enjoyed a similar run. 34-year-old WWE superstar and former Intercontinental champion recently vented out his frustrations with WWE over this situation.

Which WWE superstar is not satisfied with his current run and Cody Rhodes’ push?

Ricochet recently met with Mark Andrews and was featured in his podcast. While he spoke on a variety of issues there, his one regret stood out. As he spoke, he expressed his frustrations with the creative. He claimed that the company is not allowing him to build compelling storylines like superstars such as Rollins, Styles, and Rhodes.

Ricochet claimed that his character is going nowhere. And not receiving a similar kind of push as Seth Rollins or Cody Rhodes. Both Rhodes and Rollins are at the top of the game, winning championships, setting records, and being fan favorites. Ricochet himself is one of the best in-ring competitors, however, he is yet to receive his deserving push.

Referring to his WWE character he said, “Ricochet, he kind of gets a reset every time he comes out. So whether he lost in five minutes last week, people don’t really remember, because when he comes out, they just know they’re about to see something cool. And so I think that’s like a good and bad thing for Ricochet because I don’t really get the opportunity, like for example, like a Seth (Rollins) or an A.J. (Styles) or someone, a Cody (Rhodes) or someone.”

He further said that the above-named superstars’ loss in a match results in a storyline or progress, whereas during his time nothing happens. The 34-year-old said, “Ricochet just has to come out and have another match, you know what I mean? Whether he wins or loses, he just comes out and has another match.”

Ricochet is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, who lost the title to Gunther in a hard-fought battle. However, he has since then failed to reclaim the title. And was then paired with Braun Strowman in the tag-team division.

Fans might finally see Ricochet get a push, as he is set to compete in London for the Money in the Bank Briefcase.

What has WWE planned for both Cody Rhodes and Ricochet in the future?

Both The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes and Ricochet are set to appear in London for the Money in the Bank PLE. While Ricochet will be competing for the briefcase, Rhodes has another opponent for himself.

Although fans expect LA Knight or Damien Priest to win the briefcase this year, WWE might surprise the fans with Ricochet coming out victorious. On the other hand, Rhodes will face Dominik Mysterio, with probable chances of Brock Lesnar showing up during the match, and setting up their third bout at SummerSlam 2023.
