CM Punk’s second WWE stint has paved the way for a massive boost since it occurred in November. From returning to a thunderous crowd pop to possibly being on the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania card against some bigwigs, Punk ended the year in his usual domineer.

That said, these magical moments wouldn’t have come to fruition if he hadn’t decided to jump ship. The Chicago-based star moving to his old wrestling home following his infamous AEW release. But how did things even fall into place on the 25th of November, as all parties scurried to make a deal happen? Well, Punk explained the nitty gritty of his roller coaster ride that day.

CM Punk’s potential WWE return had been the talk of the town since he became a lucrative free agent. The company dropped a lot of cryptic and sometimes even direct hints on the inevitable event in the recent WWE shows. The Seventh City Saint himself also tried to build some connection in favor of the popular rumor. However, later on, some counter reports outright denied any possibility of that happening due to the lack of concrete talks between all parties.

They didn’t lie either, as finally when the mystery unraveled and Punk came out to the world, Triple H called it a very close deal that only some of the creative members knew beforehand.

Agreeing on that stance, Punk noted, ”Everything happened that day so fast. You should never text and drive, ladies and gentlemen. I was trying to drive to the Allstate Arena and let everybody that deserved to know that was in my orbit know what was about to happen. I’m texting my sisters. Nobody knew. That’s how you get things done in this business. You keep things close to the vest. You don’t leak stuff. That’s when the magic happens. It was a magical moment. There were so many things going through my head. The nerves, people I hadn’t seen in ten years. I had questions, concerns, and maybe even worries. It was all solved the instant the song hit and I walked out in front of my hometown. I couldn’t hear the song anymore. I didn’t know my cues. All of it went out the window, I couldn’t hear the song, I could only hear the people. It was a magic moment”

We need to see how things will proceed for The Second City Saint down the line.
