The Royal Rumble is beloved by fans for one specific reason. It is not the chance to see the winner get a Main Event title shot at WrestleMania. It is the simple fact that there are always surprise returns at the Rumble that make the fans jump out of their seats. Ahead of the Royal Rumble 2024, Triple H’s best friend has made similar claims.
The Rumble has been home to many wrestlers returning to the company, like Edge. It has also been the place for debuts like the one of that of AJ Styles.

Starting his career in 1993 as the 1-2-3 Kid, Waltman didn’t think he’d have one of the most impactful careers of all time. Debuting in a match against Razor Ramon on Monday Night RAW, he would pick up the win and cement himself in the history books of the WWE.
Later in his career, he would win the Tag Team championship and challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship. His match for the title against Bret Hart in July 1994 is still ranked as one of the greatest matches ever on RAW. Unfortunately, he would retire from pro wrestling in 2019 but would continue working with the WWE.
I can still go at the drop of hat, at least for a few minutes. I can do all my kicks, except the one in the corner & I can do that again with a few weeks training. I'm at least month away from taking my shirt off in public, so zero chance I'll be in the Rumble.
