WWE superstars and their fans are a deadly combination. They complement each other in every way. While most of the superstars are already aware of this truth and hence treat their admirers with the utmost priority, Hulk Hogan took longer to acknowledge it.

The Hulkster has been a major draw in the wrestling world for over a few decades. While he rose to the pinnacle of success with his incredible talent and skill, it was the enormous love and endorsement of fans that made the journey fulfilling for the 70-year-old and helped him stay relevant in the industry more prominently.

Hulk Hogan had a different realization about handling fans and fame

During the 80s and 90s, Hulk Hogan became a household name. The Hulk Mania completely took over the WWE Universe and people literally only came to watch WWE matches to see the guy in person. His incredible charisma, coupled with his prowess, drew them in instantly.

Despite the counter notion of Hogan tarnishing his own image among fans by drowning himself in several controversies throughout his career, the love he received still weighs more. After walking a long path in life and career, the Hall of Famer realized how priceless the love and support that he gets is.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Hulkster revealed his changed outlook on dealing with fans. “It’s not hard to be Hulk Hogan because I appreciate it so much. I could be a wrestler that I walk down the street and nobody recognizes me, so it’s just it’s really cool now to have the mindset and have the wisdom to go, ‘oh my gosh these people have stuck with me through thick and thin through the good times and the bad times’, they come up to me and they tell me how much they love me,” the legend noted.

“I’ve got so much respect for the character and so much respect for the people that are still with me I had no idea how intense it really was until my latter years and it took that long for me to collect all this information,” he said.

We saw fans do various weird things to come to the notice of their favorite superstars. Hogan’s experience was nothing different. A fan once did a crazy act by showing up at his doorstep without any kind of notice. That said, what Hogan did in response was even crazier.

A fan, who is also a distant relative of an ex-WWE star, somehow found out that he could get a picture with the star if he would drive up to his home. When he showed up, the Hulkster came out with a shotgun to confront him. However, he eventually managed to take a picture by the time.

Maybe Hogan would have treated that fan differently if he had the realization of the sheer importance of them prior to that incident.
