Throughout his career, Hulk Hogan has successfully ventured into various wrestling promotions, consistently showing his skill and influence. However, toward the dusk of his career, Hogan underwent multiple injuries and surgeries. These compelled him to cut his career short. During his recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Hogan opened up on his injuries which he sustained after his match against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 19.

Hogan claimed that his first back surgery was botched, and he had to bear a terrible result. The botched surgery resulted in ten more surgeries, making him almost incapable of walking, and nearly putting him in a wheelchair.

However, The Hulkster fought back against those and is currently in extremely good shape. During the interview, Hogan would also compare himself with other people of his age, and younger than him, and compare their physiques, rating him to be superior to them.

What was the mistake that almost caused Hulk Hogan to be in the wheelchair?

Hulk Hogan’s career in the ring, caused severe turmoil in his body and left multiple long-term injuries. During his interview with Ariel Helwani, he revealed how his first back surgery resulted in complications, and required 10 more surgeries.

He said, “The last 15 years I was wrestling, the doctors were shooting me up with these facet injections cause the nerves would be impeached off. Then when that did not work, they would actually do the radio frequency where they would actually burn the nerves off. “

However, Hogan further claimed that post which he required a back-surgery but that got messed up in between. The 69-year-old said, “we went from our first back surgery and the guy cut too much bone away, and I ended up having ten all together. So, it was such a weird change.”

He continued, “after back surgery no.6, I am told I may never walk again. You know, it’s been quite a journey to over here, to get healthy and back on my feet. I mean I train for hour and half everyday.”

Hogan is now in much better shape and trains regularly. From being told he would be in a wheelchair forever to being in good shape. The Hulkster has come a long way and inspired many.

Hulk Hogan wants to face Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 40

During his podcast with Helwani, he also expressed his desire of facing Steve Austin at WrestleMania 40. Hogan claimed that he returned to WWE in the early 2000s, to have a bout against Austin, but it never happened.

However, he now wants to have a retirement match with him at WrestleMania 40. Austin was rumored to return this year, he did not do so. So the chances are extremely less of him making a return next year to face Hulk Hogan. Both Hogan and Austin are way outside their prime years, and the match might not be entertaining enough for the fans as well.
