Pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan is arguably one of the most recognizable faces in the industry. He is also considered to be one of the greatest pro wrestlers to have graced the squared circle. While Hogan has changed his outfits- the iconic red and gold or the all-black garb during his Hollywood Hogan run- his look has mostly remained unchained.
But do you know the two-time WWE Hall of Famer once changed his look for a movie? The Hulkster recalled the experience during his recent chat with podcast host Chris Van Vliet.

During the podcast, the host asked Hogan when was the last time he shaved his mustache, which has become his signature look. The icon replied that it was during his run in the WCW and said Kevin Sullivan might have been the one to do it during the latter’s run with the Dungeon of Doom faction.
Then Hogan revealed another time when he had to sport a moustache-less look. “I have shaved it off for a couple movies when I did uh the assault, you probably never saw them bunch of low budget movies,” he told Vliet. Hogan spoke about his role in the 1997-released action movie Assault on Devil’s Island.
The movie also starred Shannon Tweed- who played a DEA operative and Carl Weathers, who essayed the role of Hogan’s partner. However, despite the change in look, it admittedly didn’t make much of a difference.
“I had a black wig on the color of your hair. A long wig like a ex Navy SEAL and I had the mustache off,” Hogan said, adding that despite the changed look, he would still get recognized in public places.
Meanwhile, this wasn’t the only time Hogan enthralled the fans with his acting chops. In fact, his very first film got him into trouble.
What did Hulk Hogan sacrifice for his part in Rocky 3?
Hogan’s movie appearance started with the third installment of the iconic Rocky film series. In the 1982-released film Rocky 3, Hogan played an extension of his real life job- a professional wrestler. As Thunderlips, he towered over the hero, Sylvester Stallone, and showed Hollywood his incredible strength.

But it wasn’t all rosy for Hogan. He was fired from the WWE by Vince McMahon Sr, who had warned him against signing the movie. Hogan however chose to play the role and earned a five-figure check for it.
