In a significant move, WWE confirmed the signing of Jade Cargill to a multi-year contract on September 26, 2023. Cargill shone in AEW as the TBS Women’s champion from January 5, 2022, to May 28, 2023. But has now decided to embark on a new challenge in her career. It led to her transition to WWE by reporting to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando from September 18 to 22.

Her final appearance in AEW took place on the September 15 episode of AEW Rampage. It was an unsuccessful bid for the AEW TBS Championship. Cargill had enjoyed an undefeated run as the TBS Champion in AEW until her defeat by Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing. Her final AEW match was against Statlander on an episode of AEW Rampage.

Speculation has been rife about Cargill’s WWE path, with some insiders suggesting she might head straight to RAW or SmackDown, bypassing NXT. According to The Wrestling Observer Radio, Cargill’s contract is a main roster deal, which notably exceeds the typical $68,000 per year received by most NXT talents.

While her earnings won’t initially match those of established stars like Charlotte Flair or NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, they will significantly surpass the standard for newcomers. Internally, there’s considerable buzz surrounding Cargill’s arrival, indicating a higher priority than typical NXT call-ups.
